Porcelain Veneers Questions
Serving Dallas, University Park, Plano, Fort Worth, and Surrounding Areas of Texas
What are porcelain veneers?
Thin shells of ceramic material which are permanently affixed to the front surface of any damaged or discolored teeth. They are custom-created to straighten crooked teeth, whiten dark teeth, and create the perfect smile.
What dental problems do porcelain veneers fix?
Almost any aesthetic problem on the front surface of a tooth. The most common problems are cracks, chips and gaps, crooked teeth or discolored teeth.
Will my teeth have to be ground down to points?
No, Dr. Strader is one of the few dentists who have mastered Lumineers, veneers that require little or no removal of sensitive tooth structure.
How long do they last?
When applied by a qualified cosmetic dentist, such as Dr. Strader, porcelain veneers can last 20 years or more provided you brush and floss them and see your dentist regularly.
How are they applied?
The veneers are created in a lab, based off of a model of your mouth. They are attached to the front surface of your teeth with special dental cement.
What sort of maintenance do veneers require?
Regular brushing and flossing, just as you would with your natural teeth, is enough maintenance necessary to ensure that your veneers last a lifetime!
What is the end result?
Porcelain looks and feels very similar to real teeth. The end result is a very natural-looking, damage-free tooth surface.
