What is reconstructive dentistry?
It is any dental procedure designed to repair damaged teeth. Reconstructive procedures are two-fold. They improve the appearance of your smile, and they also decrease your risk of dental infections, since damaged teeth usually become breeding grounds for bacteria.

What types of procedures are typically considered 'reconstructive?'
The placing of crowns, bridges and implants are the three most common reconstructive procedures.

What are crowns?
Crowns are porcelain prosthetic devices which completely cover a damaged tooth, instantly correcting chips and cracks in existing teeth. (For more information, see our Porcelain Crowns page.)

What are bridges?
Bridges are one or more false teeth (called "pontics") designed to replace missing teeth. They're called bridges because they are suspended on each side by crowns. The pontic hangs between the two crowns, like a bridge, effectively replacing the missing tooth.

What are implants?
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made of Titanium. The root is inserted into your jawbone, through your gum line. A pontic is then attached to the implant. Implants and pontics are a permanent way to replace missing teeth.

Is reconstructive dentistry for me?
