Biological dentistry is a type of dentistry designed to eliminate all potentially toxic substances from coming into contact with our patients. At Dallas Designer Smiles, we do not use any mercury or nickel. In the past, these materials have been used in fillings. Today, however, these materials have proven to be dangerous, which is why we choose to use only non-mercury tooth-colored fillings.
Another aspect of biological dentistry is our use of the Waterlase laser. This is a cleaner, less traumatic alternative to the traditional dental drill. We use the Waterlase laser to treat gum disease and remove decay - there is now no need for painful scalpels or injections! Additionally, we are very conscientious about the consistent use of sterile equipment. We use barrier techniques during every procedure, to prevent our patients and ourselves from any potentially contagious diseases.
At Dallas Designer Smiles, we meet or exceed all sterilization guidelines set forth by OSHA.
